We have an existing pedicab operation which we are eager to find a responsible and passionate General Manager of Operations.
We are an equipment-leasing company that leases pedicabs to qualified and trained drivers on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Pedicabs serve as a mode of pedal-powered transportation for residents, tourists, and late-night partygoers. In addition to providing transportation, pedicabs serve as a form of entertainment that allows customers an opportunity to learn fun facts about the Fort Lauderdale area during privately scheduled tours. We are currently looking for a leader who can work weekdays as well as weekends and/or night-time shifts.
Our Pedicab management position offers a relaxed work environment, flexible scheduling, a great workout, and an opportunity to make great money.
Primary Requirements (Subject to Change):
· 21 years of age
· Reside in Fort Lauderdale area
· Fluency of the English language
· Capable of riding a bike for an 8-hour shift.
· Excellent knowledge of the Fort Lauderdale area
· Availability to start immediately
· Current Drivers License (Any State)
Other Qualities:
· Strength and Endurance – Drivers have to be able to pull 700-1000 LBS for approximately 6 to 8 hours. (This position is part time in the office and part time riding a pedicab.)
· Knowledge – Drivers must be able to efficiently travel throughout the city. The operations manager must know the hotels and various land marks throughout the city.
· Self-Motivation – As our general manager of operations, you will have the ability to profit from hard work. The more motivated, energetic, and devoted, the more profitable the manager position will be.
· Good attitude – People in the service industry are most successful when they have a great attitude because it ultimately adds value to a customer’s experience.
· Night Schedule – Night shifts may be the most profitable, and thus have the most demand. These shifts may run into the early hours of the morning. (May require 1-2 nights per week).
Responsibilities include:
Hiring drivers- Advertise & promote job openings. Set up interviews and hire qualified strong candidates. Train each new hire. Collect paperwork for each new hire
Operations- Schedule drivers, motivate drivers, ensure safety, conduct driver meetings. Maintain office, warehouse, bikes, shop, tools. Responsible to keep manager schedule of who will open and close shop 7 days a week. Assist with advertising installs.
Community Development- Meet neighbors, local businesses, concierge, hotels, city officials. Promote Pedicab services, develop relationships with all appropriate agencies/businesses/individuals.
Maintenance- keep pedicabs in working order by doing ongoing maintenance of bikes, hiring a shop mechanic, maintaining an inventory of spare parts, and scheduling maintenance.
Minimum 25 hours per week in the office (hiring, training, bike maintenance, reports & logs), minimum 3 hours networking, & minimum 12 hours riding.
Driving a pedicab should be a fun and enjoyable experience.
