Hello everyone! My name is Matt and I am the proud new co-owner of Coeur d'Alene Pedicab LLC. My partner's name is Bill - he hasn't joined the forum yet. We just took delivery of two brand new Main Street Pedicabs with the hope of adding a couple of more by the end of summer.
Here's some background on our town. Coeur d'Alene (http://www.coeurdaleneidaho.org/), Idaho, USA is a city with a population of approximately 40,000. We sit on the north end of a gorgeous lake with several beaches right downtown.
During the peak tourist season of May - September our population can swell to near 100,000 people! Our city has a very strict sign ordinance which disallows advertising on the outside of the cabs. So we're trying something new(we haven't heard of anyone doing this, anyway), an onboard dining and entertainment guide. We're selling advertising space in the guide. These are nicely bound books that stay with the cabs. Someone gets in the cab and asks where a good place to eat is, we refrain from personal opinion and refer them to the guide. It's bold, and while pedicabs are entirely new to this area, we are starting to sell space in the guide, slowly but surely.
By the way, we went with Main Street Pedicabs (http://www.pedicab.com) based on their reputation, and are EXTREMELY pleased with how well built they are. So wish us luck and we'll let you all know how the guidebook goes. If anyone has tried the guide idea before let us know. Thanks and ride safe!
PS: No website yet...we'll let you know. I really like this site but it's not letting me attach our logo.:(
