Now then guys,

Still in the process of conceptual design for a rickshaw.

Question is;

1 - Where I intend to operate the Rickshaw has a number of hills which have an incline of approx 15% or 1 in 6.
With passengers (2 persons) and carriage weighing approx 200+ kg what sort of gearing ratio would I need.

2 - Is it easier to power (Manual) from behind or upfront of the carriage.

Appreciate any answers and opinions

Cheers - Mick

try to use as big cog on the rear axle as possible approx 39T, on the transfer hub 22T or less, the cassette must be something like 12-34T and the crankset plates 32T and 42T,

with these you will go any uphill:cool:
