Hi all

Recently saw pedi-cabs in action in NY City and thought they would work great in Cape Town. Big tourist city and the soccer world cup is coming...

Our currency is weak and the cost of US/UK/Europe made pedicabs makes the startup impossible.

Looking at asiascooters.com at half the price! Are they half the price and double the problems?

Cheers

Jonno

Look at the pictures at the links above. Look the same? Well what we have here is ths Chinese making cheapie knock offs of a great rickshaw. If you look through the archives you can find a few threads where we have talked about this issue, in short if you buy a cheap knock off you get a cheap knock off. Sucks that the rand aint worth shit and buyin western made products is over the top expensive but why not look to Durban where the Zulu dudes do the rickshaw thang old skool style and run the tourists about? Been to Durban a while back and saw em down by the sea. Now I wouldent want to pull there rickshaws as they were not made very well but you can probably make one yourself from the pics to be found at this site.

Or if you must be on a bike you can often find western made cabs like Maxamus, Mainstreet and Velocabs for sale on this site that are used and thus cheaper or you can go with an eastern European model although I would go with a Max or a MS.
