last night was my first night on my new pedicab. im the only game in town, and giving it a go. so last night i went down to a hockey game(we have a minor league team in town)people have to park a few blocks away and walk to the game.the game starts at 7:30, i got down there at 6:30, i rode till about 8,and had no rides. i think people just didnt know what i was. so i came home ans hung out for awhile till i knew the game was going to get out. i went back down at about 9:30 just before the game got out. i was out front waiting for the crowd, when a couple guys see me and ask for a ride, my first paying customers.they got in and said they wanted to go to a bar a half block away, but they would like a littel longer ride. i took them around two blocks and dropped them of at the front door, one guy gave me a 10$ bill the other gave me 5$ bill, sweet 15 bucks in 10 min. i thanked them and off i went. it was like magic as soon as people saw others in it they wanted a ride. anyway i ended up giving 3 more rides, the night ended up with 27$ dollars in my pocket, not bad for my first night.there is another game tonight ill be there sore legs and all. this could be the best job ever!

My partner and I just had our first nights on Thursday and Friday, and our story would read just like yours...slow at first, then suddenly everyone wanted to climb onboard. :D And what a blast! I knew that this would be fun, but I didn't think it would be THAT fun! Keep up the good work and I will, too!

Matt

P.S. What town are you operating in?

This summer I hit my pedicabing birthday (4years old!) & I have just finished another 'funky' Sunday out after starting at 2pm & now finished at 8pm .The sun was shining on London, no wind & the temp a nice 18C. Made around £50 with a couple of stops for food & cups of tea. The people were all friendly & gave good tips. When not riding had a chance to watch the life in Soho (our red & pink light district). Short skirts & pritty faces, with my 'bench & leg rest' (the pedicab) parked next to my much loved coffee shop.

Gave lots of free directions & smiled at over 20 cameras, now my legs have a warm worked feeling my body is happy & I'm drinking my one beer of the day befor heading home, nearly 37 & I'm happy.

Not bad even when I have forgotten the winter rain & snow, through which I have worked too many times. ;)

Wow. I cant really remember my first day working as it was so long ago, I had no idea what I was doing nor did I know where I was going! Winter snow on London? Really? If you want to work in the snow you can allways come to Toronto in winter although pulling people through it aint fun!

I live in Fort Wayne IN and I am think about doing a bike taxi/pedicab here. The best of luck to you in Muskegon MI. I may have to drive up and get a ride from you!
