mtw metal works in San Diego CA. Their web site no longer appears to be working.

Hi. I actually have a five-seater pedicab and would like to sell it. I'm in St. Louis, Missouri--equidistant from everywhere!
Mine is a dandy vehicle, and I'm only selling it to make room for two smaller pedicabs in my garage. I'm in Berkeley, CA, right now, so I can't post a picture of it here, but you can see it at my website www.stlouisrickshaw.com
I am author, and when my last book was published, there was also a picture of me and my family in the pedicab, in People magazine.
This vehicle was custom-built by Quadracycle, Inc., of Hamilton Indiana, and has been upgraded and reinforced a couple of times. It comes with an electric-assist motor and brand new batteries. The two people in front can pedal, and three in back just ride for fun. If you don't want the weight of the motor and batteries, these can be disconnected. In the picture you see at the website, the advertising signage can also easily be removed.
If you're interested, I will be back in St. Louis in mid-March. If you want it sooner, I'm sure something can be arranged.
Feel free, also, to call me on my cell phone, which is 314-262-5654.
Thanks,
Eric (the Topeka Kid)

Thanks everyone. After much research, and no money, I have decided that I am going to build my own family pedicab using the Kyoto Cruiser plans from atomiczombie.com.
I am going to lengthen his design by a couple of feet, put on 26 inch wheels, and put a bench seat on the back to haul the kids around.

I will take any help offered. I have seen so many great ideas.
I originally started wanting to make a 5-seater like what Ken Cameron uses. (Google SketchUp isn't powerful, but it's free.)

I made plans and when I showed my wife she said, "How am I going to pedal? I want exercise too." So I went back to the drawing board. This is what I came up with.

The one thing I have not liked about my "rickshaw" was the way it rides on uneven surfaces.
After Topeka Kid posted his images, I decided that I wanted a side by side tandem. I rolled around the idea of a quad,

but Brad Graham (AtomicZombie) made some great points about a quad versus a trike with frame strength and wheel staying on uneven surfaces.

As I said before, I think I will build a Kyoto Cruiser Pedicab. His uses 20 inch wheels but I want to go with 26 inch wheels and have a semi-recumbent, instead of a full recumbent. The idea of having two people pedal appeals to me also. I thought that my buddy and I could take our wives a double date, etc.
Thanks for reading. Winter is making me really eager to get this project started.

I haven't made a design for a tandem side by side trike yet..........that would take me some time..........but the vehicle would feature some real advanced components featured on our website.....including a torsen differential and bearing housing tubes as well as other internally mounted features..........how much do you have to spend on materials??? and do you have access to a cnc milling machine..........all of our cabs require these types of fabrication......
