Hey guys...

My company is doing an event in September in Detroit that will require some pedicab/rickshaw drivers. Have been looking all over the Internet to find a service in Detroit to contact, but no luck.

Does anyone know of a pedicab/rickshaw service in the Detroit/Michigan area that I might be able to get in touch with?

Many thanks!

I do not know any company in Detroit, but I know that there are operators in USA which may bring the pedicabs to the city you want and realizing the event.

Feel free to contact www.pedicab.com
They are manufacturers of the "Main Street Pedicab" and know basically all operations in USA.

Gerald... thank you so much for the information. This will help greatly.

So when anyone in the world wants to start a pedicab business, is Main Street Pedicabs the #1 source?

If anyone else has any suggestions, I welcome them!

Thanks again!

The number one place to start is www.pedicabforum.com :D

Of course Main Street Pedicabs are very good and popular pedicabs in USA. Europe is "dominated" by www.velotaxi.com , www.velocab.com , www.cyclesmaximus.com and some other manufacturers.

A good starting point is our manufacturer directory (http://pedicabforum.com/k-links/rickshaw-pedicab/manufacturers) or www.workbike.org

The problem importing from Europe to USA or vice versa are the costs for transport / duties etc. This may be the reason why there are just few european manufacturers selling to USA. Another problem is the "product liability".

Anyway: Before spending your money in pedicabs you could try them. All pedicabs I mentioned above are good pedicabs. They fullfill good safety and technical standards.

Don't waste your money with cheap "Bangladesh"-rickshaws (300 USD / Ebay). Buy quality.
