Stunning 'becak' rickshaw for sale London
I import many items from Java, Indonesia and managed to import a becak. This is a serious piece of kit, with leaf springs, solid steel construction, teak woodwork and canopy. We even had the seat re-upholstered to match it's burgundy colour. Nobody seems to have such a beautiful item in the UK. We would reluctantly sell for £1,200. Feel free to get in touch if you are interested, or type 'becak' into Google and hit images to see what it is

And what would one do with such a thing? Use it to make money taking punters about in the west end?

Sure. As a cycle rickshaw, or fairs, promotions, center piece for an Asian restaurant where customers can sit whilst waiting for a table etc etc

    Hi Folks

As it stands the Becak would not be suitable as a pedicab type rickshaw, it is too heavy with no gears, no brakes on the front wheels and a Flintstonesque lever in front of the seat which pushes two bits of car tyre under the rear rim, car leaf spring suspension & no steering damper.
Becaks are very difficult to pedal up anything but the easiest grade & terrifying downhill!

But having said all that I love mine and they would make superb promotional vehicles.

I would like to add :-

Drum front brakes (1" diameter axles)

A reliable electric motor (geared preferably)

    And some steering dampers

    Any suggestions gladly received.

Good luck with your sale, there are not many Becaks in UK

    Safe riding Chop!
