Looking for Modern History of Rickshaws
I am making a flow chat of the history of rickshaws in the west. I am including Europe and the UK. Does anyone know the timeline of rickshaws and pedicabs. Like when did the first Kabukis start and where? Each type has a history and a person who started them. I have some of the timeline in the US and what and where they started. Please let me know if you have any info.

I Go An Original Picture With History.
Greg:
It was an American lady in China that got a coolie to ride a bicycle and pull the handpulled rickshaw to have more speed.

Really you have a picture?
Where was the first pedicab made in the west? Year? Who made them?

I got a picture of the very first rickshaw in China.
Greg:
The photo I have is an original picture from April 2nd, 1930.
The information about the rickshaw says:
"NEW CHINESE HORSE"
"Pekin? China Miss Betty Gordon of Louisville, Ky. wanted more speed in China, so she rented a bicycle and tied a rickshaw on behind. As a result, she got more speed with less wear and tear on the coolie. The idea went great with the Chinese and before she the American tourist left peking, several other such combinations were seen on the streets. 4/2/30"
This information shows the origins of the bicycle rickshaw.
I can not tell you about the origins of that business in the U.S. but I hope this will help to make a time line from the beginning to the end.
Best regards.
Jose
