Stolen Pedicabs in New York

For what it's worth, a number of pedicabs have been stolen in New York. A few of late include a blue TIPKE, a black Main Street, a yellow Main Street, and a Turkish cab. Just to let folks know that it's going on. At least ten have been stolen over the last few years here, and more are bound to "disappear".

how are these being stolen?? Have these riders never heard of a lock? Or why are they leaving them in the first place. You cant make money if you're not on them?? Just curious....

I believe they've heard of locks. Doesn't matter. Most don't use them. In fact, even when they're used, they're cut periodically . . . though they're usually crappy chains or cables with crappy locks that are cut. (New York is the bike theft capital of the world, many say.)

We've got approximately 500 drivers here in the summer now and a bit less in the spring and fall, and you get all kinds from all over the globe. Loco.
