    Thumbs down Damaged Velocab wheel-hub

I have been rebuilding the wheels on one of my velocabs, replacing its old moped rims and have come across a wee problem.

My last 2 bikes had no bother running on downhill rims with 13g spokes.

One of the hubs on this bike has had its holes drilled and now the spokes fall through. On closer inspection the holes are much bigger than the spoke holes on any of my other velocab hubs.

Is it possible to use washers to hold the heads of the spokes in place, or will i have to get some new hubs made up?

    Kind regards,

    Rob

    Update!

Went to local DIY store and got some washers to try and prevent spokes pulling through hub holes. All seemed well, but when tightening spokes the washers began to fail.

Wish i knew why this hub had exceedingly large holes compared to all the others I've rebuilt with new new rims/spokes.

Bit gutted as i don't think my rims will take thicker spokes than a 13g.

This last Velocab has been an utter ballache!

    Thicker washers or new hub?

Yes, that he does and I hear he's a good christian too ......... (maybe to far) but let's just pause for a bit and give thanks to an office which must have every nut bolt and screw a person can lose from a rickshaw, sitting their year after year, after year and year till they don't make the ruddy thing any more

Sakshi, nobody on this forum drives an electric rickshaw - we drive pedicabs - bicycle taxis - the product you are trying to sell is illegal in the North America due to insurance and licensing regulations we do not have Tuk Tuks here, try the Tuk Tuk forum
